Welcome to the Associated Student Government!
An ASG Senate Retreat will be held this year to equip ASG Senators with the knowledge they will need to achieve their goals this year. The retreat will occur at the 7A Ranch located at 333 Wayside Drive in Wimberley, Texas. You may find more information about the camp here.
Please plan to meet on Saturday, August 28th at 1:30 pm in the Matthews Street garage to carpool and leave together. We will be able to provide transportation for 8-16 people in university vans; Cody DeSalvo will email senators with more details on how to get a seat. This is an overnight retreat, so be prepared to be back in San Marcos Sunday the 29th around 6 pm. We will provide dinner at 5 pm on the 28th, breakfast at 9 am and lunch at 1 pm on the 29th.
Mission: Under our administration, it's A New Day in Bobcat Country for our university and for you, the student body. Our plan is to instill pride through collaboration, service and initiative. Our job is to represent you, the students (our peers) here at Texas State University and to our school system.
The Associated Student Government acts as the voice for every bobcat. The senate consists of sixty senators that represent the on-campus, off-campus and academic college constituency. All ASG meetings are open so that you can learn about the issues we face as students and call attention to items that are important to you. Meetings are Mondays at 7 pm on the fourth floor of the LBJ Student Center in the Teaching Theatre.
ASG Office: Our offices are located on fourth floor of the LBJ Student Center in Suite 4-5.1.
Office Hours: We will be in the office frequently with the door open. However, we are students and attend classes. Official office hours will be posted before school officially starts. Our open door policy is very serious. It's open, so please come see us if you have an issue of any kind. This is your office, too.
