It is with great honor and pride that I represent the students of Texas State University as the Student Body Vice President. I believe that our institution has held true to its phrase, “The Rising Star of Texas.” As students, we are lucky to have the chance to attend this University during the biggest development boom in its history. We are an Emerging Research Institution, a Hispanic Serving Institute, and we recently moved up to division I in our Athletic program. Our University is a breeding ground of students who find connections after graduating, build leadership skills, and earn a quality education. The students of Texas State University are making a difference in our community, our state, and our nation.
As Vice President, I plan to make sure more students are aware of what is going on within our organization. It is a top priority for the representatives of the Associated Student Government to passionately serve the students. We are looking to hear all concerns from students and to keep communication alive when it comes to making changes for the betterment of Texas State.
Our motto is “Students Serving Students” and that is the overall mission of ASG. If you ever feel that you are not finding your student government useful or never hear from us, please let us know. We won’t know how to keep moving forward without the help from our constituents. ASG is the only organization that can voice student concerns to administration and I say we take advantage of that!
