Dear Bobcats,

It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome each of you to another great year at Texas State!

You join us in a time of tremendous growth not only in the size and shape of our beautiful campus, but in our advancement of excellence. Whether it be our Bobcat athletes winning the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Cup or the launching of our electrical engineering program, it is clear to see that Texas State’s long standing tradition of excellence is very much alive.

As a Bobcat, you are a part of that tradition and I challenge you to make the most of every moment and add to it. With over 300 student organizations, countless academic services, various fine art performances, and numerous athletic events, the opportunity for you to live, learn, lead, grow, and get involved will never again be readily available, so take advantage.  

This university is now your home; live it up. Make every moment an opportunity, immerse yourself in the richness of our history, and seek out ways to share your talents with our Bobcat family. Everyone accepted to this great university was accepted for the talents that they possess, and it is my sincerest hope that you share your talents and utilize them to carry on the tradition of excellence here at Texas State. It is your voice, your actions, and your achievements that will write the next great chapter of our university, and I am honored be right here with you on that journey.
